Sea Of Fog

It’s already weeks ago when dad and I did our last hike. Our goal was to catch up with the sun…it took us exactly 1600 m asl. At the end of the afternoon it even was 2000 m asl…unbelievable!

On the next picture the fog looks like it’s flowing over the crest. It was an amazing view up there!

Marwees, my first entry in a summit book...being a bit proud :-)

It wasn't very high but really cliffy!

Our last refreshment before we went through the cold and compact fog again.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long we saw the first sunray again.

The lake you can see on the next picture was very chilly but that didn't restrain Katja (a school mate) and me having a swim in it...what a refreshment :-)

On our way back we took the Floomzer :-)

Last year, we had a discussion in Switzerland, especially Appenzell Ausserhoden (our home canton), about doing hiking nudely. Unbelievable, but it’s true :-) During our hike we found this cute little hut…on the signs are the words: changing room for naked hikers :-)

Vacances En France...La Belle Provence

This summer, my friend Fabienne and I spent two weeks in France. The weather was beautiful, all along...hot and sunny. We went with the car....a Renault Twingo which was perfect for the tight lanes there. Our camping was in Saint-Quentin-La-Poterie, a little village close to Uzès and Avignon.

At the way down there, we made a stop near Lucerne to visit a top level athletics meeting. I got VIP tickets from a friend of mine...the view from the tribune was perfect and the athletes did a good job...excellent results!

Michael and Alex, who are in the same athletics team, accompanied us.

Our first breakky at the camping. We always ate baguette and sometimes pain au chocolat (bread with chocolate bars in it). Fabienne got her Chicco d'oro coffee every morning.

Luxury...our beautiful and cosy hammock.

We had two pools and everything you need for camping. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be much more comfortable sleeping in a house...and unbelievable everything got in our little Twingo :-).

One day, we spent in Avignon. A city close to our little village. The historic centre had much charm...just lovely.

For one morning we did some horse riding...second time in my life. First, it was very tricky but with the time also Stee got the hang of it :-) Fabienne did a good job right from the beginning but I have to mention that she did it already years before ;-)

Every Wednesday and Saturday there was a market in Uzès where we always bought vegetables, fruits and nuts. We loved the lavender which covered the whole ambiance in his pretty flavour.

One trip we made to the Pont du Gard, a very old viaduct which irrigated the whole province years and years before. We went there with a kayak which was very funny and also exhausting. The next day, we had sore muscles.

Les beaux is a village built on the rocks of the Provence. Very touristic but lovely with all the little shops and the tiny lines. Fabienne and I found two holes in the rocks...we weren't able to help doing some funny pictures :-)
